Sid Block and his wife Martha moved to Maine in 1975 and have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Dr. Block has been a practicing rheumatologist since moving to Maine. He is a Master of the American College of Rheumatology. Amongst his civic engagements has been to be the President of the Northport Village Corporation that oversees Bayside and to be the lay cantor for Congregation Beth El in Bangor. He and Martha have long been involved in various environmental issues, most notably in the successful opposition to AES, a proposed coal-fired power facility in Bucksport some years ago

Janie and her husband moved to Belfast in 2013. Before that, she was a pediatric hospital chaplain in Washington, DC.
Since coming to Maine, Janie has been active in grass roots efforts to protect and preserve the environmental integrity of the community. She has served on the Board of FHLH since 2020. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, gardening and making art.
